FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do i need experience?
Nope! Classes aren't divided by skill levels. All students are welcomed and taught together. Teaching together allows the opportunity for beginners to learn from the advanced students as well as allowing advanced students to sharpen up their skills by coaching.
What should i bring?
Just bring shorts, a t-shirt, and a water bottle. We'll cover the rest! We have loaner GIs and our own equipment that you can borrow while you're in class. For any no-gi classes, just shorts and a t-shirt are needed. For any striking classes, bring a cup and mouthguard if you have them (mouthguard is required for striking sparring).
What's the vibe?
Very chill. We are a no-ego gym. If you have uniforms of different color or with patches from different gyms, we don't care. Just get your butt in here to train.
whats the class structure?
First 10 minutes is roughly dedicated to warming up. Then you will learn the first technique followed by drilling it. During this time, the instructor will check every student to make sure you get it. Repeat with technique number two and then the last bit is group drilling and sparring. We believe you learn by being thrown into the fire, not sitting on the sidelines. If you have no experience, you'll be paired with someone who does so we can make sure you aren't injured.
Why should i sign up for the trial?
Because you'd be dumb not to. Don't be dumb. Be smart. You get 7 full days free just by signing a waiver. No one else does it. Take your time and get to know your new home.
