OUR KICKBOXING CLASSES
| Before Kickboxing: Come a bit early to class to get warmed up and ready. The main pieces of gear you'll need are gloves (14-18oz), wraps (optional) and a mouth guard. For clothes, wear loose clothing so you can move around. You'll be barefoot.
| At the start: When you start, you'll be asked to grab a jump rope. You'll do about 5 minutes to get your heart rate going. Then you'll do some basic punches to get the lay of the land.
| Learning: The majority of the class, your instructor will teach you a technique, have you pair with someone to work on that technique and repeat throughout class. You'll work with a live person so you really feel what kickboxing is like.
| The burnout: At the end of class, you'll do a burnout which is meant to really get you tired. Here is where you'll really sweat and the goal is to have you build endurance and push through the tiredness.
HOW WE'RE DIFFERENT
| Casual environment: Some boxing gyms are filled with meatheads. We aren't. We want to make sure you feel comfortable training and don't ever feel uncomfortable. We will make sure you're safe and having fun.
| No annual contract or fees: We believe signing annual contracts is straight up shady. That is why we do month-to-month. You can cancel anytime by emailing us. Additionally, we don't do any enrollment or cancellation fees because we believe in transparency.
| Patient and friendly instructors: Our biggest differentiation is our instructors. They are patient and work well with all types of students. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Do i need experience?
No experience necessary. Just like learning a language, you'll do best when thrown into a situation right away. We will pair you with someone more experienced so you can learn from someone more experienced. Additionally, we will have our coach constantly monitoring to make sure you're getting the technique and also staying safe.
Should i wear wraps?
If you are going to wear wraps, be sure to put them on early before class so you don't lose time during class. Additionally, if you are going to wear wraps, be sure to put them on correctly. Now, you don't really need wraps. They look cool, but the point is to keep your wrist straight.
Will there be sparring?
Sparring at the end of class really depends on who else is in class with you. If it's more advanced people and if you feel comfortable, then there will be sparring at the end. However, if you don't feel comfortable or if there are a lot of novices, there will not be any sparring. If you want to spar, but do not bring a mouth guard then we can do so, but without any punches to the face.
